Review system logs
Apporto NextGen provides logs of all user sessions and key functions in the admin portal. This can be useful if you need to debug an issue or audit a user.
Use the information in this guide to learn how to:
View user session logs
User session logs are records of users signing in and out of the system.
Follow the steps below to view session logs.
- From the navigation menu, click logs or the icon to trigger the Logs screen.
- By default, the “session logs” tab will display. Timestamps will display in the time zone shown on the screen, and a total count of active sessions is provided.
- To adjust the columns that are visible or locate a specific log record, refer to the article on working with lists.
- For active sessions, click the menu icon to view session options.
- Click kill session to end the user’s current session.
- Click view session to join a user’s current session.
Export user session logs
Follow the steps below to view session logs.
- From the “session logs” tab of the Logs screen, click export to trigger the export options menu.
- Select one of the export options and follow the prompts.
- Download as CSV
- Click download as csv to generate a spreadsheet of the values shown on the screen.
- Enter start and end dates for the sessions you wish to save.
- Click apply to complete the export. The system will generate the file and trigger your local file manager for saving.
- Print – This triggers your browser’s print function, allowing you to print (or save to PDF) the values shown on the screen.
- Download as CSV
View system audit logs
Audit logs are records of events users have triggered while signed in to the system.
Follow the steps below to view audit logs.
- From the navigation menu, click logs or the icon to trigger the Logs screen.
- By default, the “session logs” tab will display. Click on the “audit logs” tab to view the list of system audit logs. Timestamps will display in the time zone shown on the screen.
- To adjust the columns that are visible or locate a specific log record, refer to the article on working with lists.
- To view details of an audit log, click view more to trigger the JSON viewer pop-up. The following examples show variations in detail format.
- Click close or click outside of the pop-up to return to the Logs screen.
Export system audit logs
Follow the steps below to view audit logs.
- From the “audit logs” tab of the Logs screen, click export to trigger the export options menu.
- Select one of the export options:
- Download as CSV – This generates the file and triggers your local file manager for saving.
- Print – This triggers your browser’s print function, allowing you to print (or save to PDF) the values shown on the screen.
