PowerShell 2025.2 Release Notes


This release focuses on PowerShell automation reliability, maintainability, and operational readiness. Scope is intentionally limited to scripting improvements, module versioning, and infrastructure support updates to ensure stable and predictable platform operations. No customer-facing features or behavioral changes are included.

  • Admins: Improved operational reliability for automation workflows, including enhanced storage provisioning and rollback safety through versioned modules.
  • Students/faculty: No direct user-facing changes are included in this release.


There are also maintenance updates to support improved stability and predictable operation. Here’s what’s included in the release.


Platform Operations IMPROVEMENT
  • Added support for AWS EBS Provisioned Rate to improve volume initialization and encryption handling in automation scripts.

Backup / Restore Automation IMPROVEMENT
  • Updated manifest.yml to support the new scripts for backup/restore of single-session VMs.

Module Versioning MAINTENANCE
  • Added versioning support to the ApportoUA PowerShell module to improve release traceability and rollback safety.

User Access NO CHANGES
  • No user access changes are included in this release.
