Appstore-2025.2 release notes

The following release notes include features, enhancements, and bug fixes for Appstore-2025.2.

New features

Restrict address by IP ADMINS

By popular request, we have added a feature that enables restricting access to Apporto by IP address.  Admins may optionally create an IP white list.  If the user’s IP is on the white list, they may login to Apporto – else they will see an access error message.

Scheduling of persistent VMs ADMINS

For synchronous classes, it can be helpful to schedule servers to be running so users don’t need to wait for the servers to start.  Apporto has provided this capability for multi-session servers for several years.  Now we have added the ability to schedule Persistent VMs too.  Since this feature has significant cost risk, it must be enabled upon request.  Please contact your Customer Success Manager if you would like to enable this feature.

Enhancements

  • Improved password security (applies to local accounts, not SSO) ARCHITECTURAL CHANGE
    • Increased the required password length from 6 characters to 12 characters
    • Removed password complexity requirements (e.g. upper and lower case, numbers, etc.) since password length is what really matters for security
    • The new 12 character requirement will only impact new users and password changes – existing users will still be able to login with their existing passwords
  • New feature settings ADMINS
    • Added a feature setting for Portia AI Assistant so it can be enabled/disabled for the instance or by group
    • Added a feature setting for the Intro Wizard so it can be enabled/disabled for the instance or by group

Bug fixes

  • Ensured the H264 support check is run for users launching from an LMS / VLE
  • Fixed a regression with Remote Applications (cloud hosted)
  • Miscellaneous accessibility enhancements
