Release: HS 2026.1

This release delivers major improvements to deployment, security, and reliability for Hyperstream, with a focus on containerization, Virtual Classroom stability, camera and file handling, and critical bug fixes across the platform.

🚀 New features & enhancements

  • Standardized deployment of containerized Guacd alongside Hyperstream.

  • Added healthcheck endpoints and improved helper script compatibility for Docker deployments.

  • Improved monitoring and telemetry with OpenTelemetry integration.

✨ Improvements to existing features

  • Enhanced Virtual Classroom reliability: fixed race conditions, improved thumbnail updates, and resolved group chat isolation.

  • Improved camera reliability and compatibility, including bounded retries and better error recovery.

  • The FileBrowser mount script now considers the filesystem type and avoids failures during repeated mounts.

  • Improved notification reliability in multi-backend environments.

🐞Fixed Issues

  • Fixed critical issues with session disconnects, assignment submissions, and Redis connectivity.

  • Addressed security vulnerabilities in filebrowser and Kurento login.

  • Resolved issues with presenter mode, screen sharing, and session permissions.

  • Fixed memory write and race condition bugs in guacd.

🛠️ Technical changes

  • SOC2 compliance: removed embedded credentials from runner.ps1.

  • Upgraded dependencies and resolved build issues causing black screens.

  • Docker deployment fixes: added missing dependencies and symbolic links.

  • Improved Redis connection handling and upgraded Lettuce library.

  • Enhanced CPU and thread usage monitoring for RDP3.
