NextGen 2026.4 introduces new capabilities and reliability improvements across the platform, including ExamSpace availability, improved SSO workflows, greater migration parity, more reliable image and desktop cloning, and enhanced provisioning. Here’s what’s new and improved.

📝 ExamSpace & Faculty Tools

  • ExamSpace Availability FACULTY
    ExamSpace is now available in NextGen, allowing faculty to configure exam applications and manage exam environments with less administrator assistance.
  • Exam Desktop Cloning & Management FACULTY
    Faculty can clone and manage exam desktops directly within NextGen, reducing the need for administrator involvement when preparing exam environments.
  • Approved-URL Allowlists FACULTY
    Faculty can establish approved-URL allowlists that are enforced during exams, helping ensure that students can access only authorized online resources.

🔐 SSO & Authentication Improvements

  • Cleaner Sign-In Transitions STUDENTS FACULTY ADMINS
    Improved sign-in transitions provide users with a cleaner and more consistent experience when authenticating through an institutional identity provider.
  • Automatic Role-Mapping Configuration ADMINS
    New identity-provider configurations now include automatic role mapping, reducing the amount of manual setup required when configuring SSO.
  • Corrected SSO Session-Log Visibility ADMINS
    Administrators who sign in through SSO can now view session-log information correctly, improving visibility when reviewing user activity or troubleshooting sessions.

🔄 Migration Parity & Role Management

  • Drupal-to-NextGen Parity Improvements ARCHITECTURAL CHANGE
    Additional parity improvements help preserve expected behavior as customer environments move from Drupal to NextGen.
  • Tech Support & Administrator-Role Handling ADMINS
    Improvements to Tech Support and administrator-role handling reduce the need for manual role cleanup following migration.
