    Accessing the App Store

Access to the App Store is password protected. You must provide valid credentials (Username or email address and Password) to access the App Store.

To log in to the App Store:

  • Navigating the App Store

    Navigating the App Store

The Apps list shows all the applications available to your user account. Each entry in the list shows the name of the application, the name of the developer/publisher, the application type and an “action” button (Install, Launch, Download).

  • Launching an App

Certain apps are hosted on a remote server, and are “streamed” through your
web browser to your local computer.

    To launch an app:

Using your preferred web browser, navigate to the URL provided to you by your Admin (e.g. mycollege.apporto.com) and log in to the system to access the App Store.

  • Uploading a File

You can upload a file from your local computer to a cloud desktop/app.

Using your preferred web browser, navigate to the URL provided to you by your Admin (e.g. mycollege.apporto.com) and log in to the system to access the App Store.

  • Downloading a File

When using a cloud desktop or app, you may wish to download a file to your local computer. You can also delete a file from the cloud PC.

    To download a file:

When using a cloud desktop or app, you may wish to delete a file from the cloud PC.

To delete a file from the cloud PC:

  • Copying and Pasting

From time to time, you may wish to copy and paste content to/from your own computer and the cloud desktop/app. You may do this using copy and paste menus as well as keyboard shortcuts (ex. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V).

Please note that copy paste does NOT work across all applications and browsers or for images. This is an inherent limitation to browser clipboards. If you run into an issue, the best workaround is to upload or download the file containing the content you need.

NOTE: Microsoft products use a proprietary clipboard. Because of this, the following procedures will NOT work with Microsoft Office applications. You will need to use an intermediate application (such as Notepad on Windows OS or TextWrangler on Mac OS) to copy and paste text between your computer and the cloud PC.

    Saving and Restoring Snapshots

The Save/Restore snapshots function lets you save up to two snapshots for an active
session so you can "roll back" your work to a previous state in the event you need to undo
    your work.

    To save a snapshot:

  • Viewing Analytics

You may find it helpful to see how much time you’ve spent in the desktop/app. The Analytics dashboard provides insight into your total time and activity – and also allows you to compare your stats relative to the average.

    To view Analytics:

    • Click the Analytics  icon in the Navigation panel.
  • Managing Your Profile

NOTE: The first time you log in to the system using the password provided by your Admin, you are directed to the PROFILE page to enter a new, permanent password.
