Managing unassigned servers

The “Unassigned” tab of the Servers screen lets you review and update servers that are not currently assigned to a server pool. These may be auto-discovered by a server detection service or orphaned after the deletion of a server pool. For cloud instances, this will be the third tab on the page. For on-premises instances, it will be the fourth tab.

To view the unassigned server list, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to the system using your credentials.
  2. Click/tap servers or the  icon in the navigation panel.
  3. Click/tap on the “Unassigned” tab.
  4. Click/tap on the resource hub dropdown to view the hubs that have unassigned servers.
  5. Click/tap on a hub from the list. This will trigger the display of unassigned servers in that hub.

Assign servers to server pools

To triage the unassigned servers, follow the steps below.

  1. Once you have selected a resource hub to view its unassigned servers, select one or more server rows from the list. You may also filter the list or adjust the displayed columns to locate the servers you need. See the article on working with lists for more information.
  2. Click/tap assign to server pool to trigger the Assign servers to a server pool pop-up screen.

  3. The pop-up will display the servers you selected. Select or create a server pool for those servers.

      1. Click/tap on the “Select existing server pool” radio button. This will be selected by default when the pop-up loads.
      2. Click/tap on the server pool dropdown. The dropdown list will contain the names of server pools within the resource hub that was selected on the “Unassigned” tab.
    2. Create new
      1. Click/tap on the “Create new server pool” radio button. The form fields for server pool information will display.
      2. Fill in the form with new server pool information. This server pool will be added to the resource  hub that was selected on the “Unassigned” tab.
  4. Click/tap assign server. The server(s) will now be listed under the server pool on either the “Multi-session” or “Single-session” tab.
  5. You will be returned to the “Unassigned” tab, so you can triage additional unassigned servers.
