Configuring Help, Support and Feedback Links

 

By default, the Help, Feedback, and Support links in Apporto point to the help, feedback, and support request pages on www.apporto.com.

You may want to override these defaults and provide your users with access to documentation or support systems outside of Apporto (eg. to your own documentation).

You can create links to customer-specific content in the Setup – Help Menu.
 

This short guide will show you step by step how to:
 

  • Add a help menu item

 

Help Menu


Add Item


Using your preferred web browser, navigate to the URL for your Apporto system, for example, “mycollege.apporto.com”, and log in to the system using your Admin credentials.

Click the
Setup icon at the bottom of the Navigation panel.

The ‘Setup’ submenu displays.


                       
 

Click Help Menu

The ‘Help Menu Setup’’ screen displays.

 

                       
 


The Help Menu Setup screen shows a listing of links available through the HELP menu, and shows the MENU name and URL for each link.

To add a new item click New
The ‘Add Menu Item’ screen displays.

 

                       


Enter a name for the menu item in the Name text box. Make the name descriptive of the site content, such as "Knowledge Base" or "FAQ."

Enter the Uniform Resource Locator for the linked site in the URL text box. Enter the full URL for the linked site, including "http://" or "https://" as applicable.

Click
Add to add the menu item to the HELP menu. The Add Menu Item dialog closes, the Help Menu screen refreshes to display the added menu item, and the message "Menu item (name) added successfully" shows at the top of the screen.

Click
Save

 

Edit Item

On the Help Menu screen, click the OPERATIONS dropdown for the desired MENU item, then choose Edit.

The ‘Edit menu item’ screen displays.


 

                      
 

The dialog shows the current Name and URL for the selected MENU item.

Edit the Name and/or URL for the MENU item as desired.
Click
Submit

The Edit Menu Item dialog closes, the Help Menu screen refreshes to display your changes, and the message "Menu item (name) has been updated successfully" shows at the top of the screen.

Click Save

 

Delete Item

On the Help Menu screen, click the OPERATIONS dropdown for the desired MENU item, then choose Delete.
The ‘Delete menu item’ screen displays.


                      
 

Click the Confirm button to delete the menu item.

Click the Cancel link to cancel the deletion and leave the menu item unchanged.

The Help Menu screen refreshes with the selected menu item removed from the list.
